This is a great question!
Essentially NO as the business model structure is designed to ensure the main components of any business are addressed
But….
Blockchain & AI have some very specific and disruptive value drivers that enable new ways of doing business and automation of business processes.. that’s right… new business models
Investors, particularly VCs, are increasingly asking entrepreneurs to describe their business model in terms of the Business Model Canvas… why?
Because they can get visibility over the entire model and quickly see how the value is created delivered to the expected customer groups.
They can also see a top line of the key costs and also how revenue will be generated.
Rather than wading through lengthy documents, the Business Model Canvas provides investors with a proven and best practice method of the proposed investment.
The simple answer is NO!
Business Plans like Marketing, Financial, Operational, HR plans etc are designed to bring the business model to life.
I have been involved in emerging technologies since the late 80’s leading some amazing projects that disrupted the mainstream business models of the day. I am always inspired by the world and people around us.
